IBA BASKETBALL, Winnipeg STOP ARROW Service Team Of Professionals The National Team of Cleaning Restoration 24 hour Emergency Serving The Area Since The Truth About Leather Chapter 2 (Continued) by Craig Hansen Pure aniline died leather: This is an almost scar free hide, and consequently, rare and premium priced. It feels glove soft and is consequently, universally appealing. It has been soaked in a dye solution and dried. Sometimes a stain repellent is added to the dye. Cleaning: Vacuuming and wiping with a "damp" cloth.

Performance: Body oils and all liquids will discolor it. A fingernail will scratch and change it's color. It also sun fades very rapidly. Generally worn completely through in 10 years or less with daily use. Pure aniline leather with a wax impregnation: It will repel soil and liquids better but will still show scratches and sun fade.

Wearability might be increased to 15 years or less. Nubuk: These have the durability and characteristics of pure aniline but they have a brushed nap. Corrected grain or embossed: Most of the time this indicates that the scars were sanded off along with of the hide's durability. The usual lifetime before the leather cracks and splits is from 5 to 10 years. Combinations of leather with vinyl: almost always this indicates the use of split cowhide or split waterbuffalo on the inside surfaces.

The usual lifetime before the leather cracks and splits is from 2 to 5 years. "More to Hansen's. FURNITURE 411 Fraine Barracks Rd.
