A Cottonwood Head-On Crash Left a Pregnant Woman Fatal and Another Injured
Cottonwood, CA (May 13, 2024) – A Cottonwood head-on crash on Bowman Road near Adams Road killed a pregnant woman and injured another. According to ABC7 KRCR, the crash happened around 4:40 a.m. on Monday.

A Cottonwood head-on crash resulted in the death of a woman who was 8 to 9 months pregnant and injuries to one driver on Monday.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred on Bowman Road near Adams Road. For reasons still under investigation, a 33-year-old Anderson woman driving a 2010 Chevy Equinox west on Bowman veered across the double-yellow lines into the eastbound lane.
The Equinox then collided head-on with a 2018 Ford F-150 traveling east on Bowman, causing significant damage to both vehicles.
As a result, emergency personnel had to extricate both drivers from their vehicles following the crash.
The driver of the Ford F-150, identified as 39-year-old Joshua Gay of Cottonwood, sustained moderate injuries and was transported to Mercy Medical Center in Redding for treatment.
Meanwhile, the driver of the Equinox, who was pregnant, was also transported to Mercy Medical Center, where she and her unborn child were pronounced dead.
Moreover, the CHP is actively investigating the cause of this Cottonwood head-on crash to determine the circ*mstances leading up to the tragic incident.
