But while some viewers speculated that the member had twisted their ankle, it has been confirmed by a TV insider that their foot is broken, so travelling home could be problematic.

A show insider said: 'The poor lad was in agony, he just about managed to scramble off stage.

'Medics had no choice other than to call an ambulance as he was in a bad way and may need an operation, which would mean he can't fly home.

'He had a pre-existing injury which has been hugely aggravated.

'He'd been feeling it in the semi-finals but there was no way he was going to miss the final.'

A Britain's Got Talent spokesperson told MailOnline: 'During last night's live final, a member of Ssaulabi Performance Troupe was injured.

'He was quickly seen by our onsite medical team before going to hospital for further treatment. All at BGT wish him a speedy recovery.'

The injury happened moments before gym receptionist Sydnie was crowned winner of the series, beating runner-up, magician Jack Rhodes, to the £250,000 cash prize and opportunity to perform at the Royal Variety Show in front of King Charles.

Sydnie was Amanda Holden's Golden Buzzer act and a favourite amongst music boss Simon Cowell, who predicted she would earn the title a week before the launch aired.

Sydnie Christmas celebrated hertriumphant win after earning27.2 per cent of the public vote with her rendition ofSomewhere Over the Rainbow on Sunday night

The singer will now perform for King Charles at the Royal Variety Performance and scooped the £250,000 cash prize

She earned 27.2 per cent of the public vote with her rendition of Somewhere Over the Rainbow, a track previously performed by former Britain's Got Talent star Loren Allred, who Sydnie says is her idol.

When discussing her song choice on today's This Morning, Sydnie said: 'It's so difficult because all my efforts went into My Way and trying to make that the way that it was because we created it and then I was really lucky, got through to the final and then you have three days to whip up and song.

'BGT helped me and when they said to do that version of Somewhere Over the Rainbow, because that's Loren Allred's version and she is my idol... I was like, do not get me to sing this song... But you put your own kiss on it and Loren was so supportive.'

The performer has already been approached by multiple agents hoping to sign her in the aftermath of her triumphant win.

Sydnie revealed: 'I've had some interest from some really good agencies and it's just picking which one is right for you.

'But I think I'm hellbent on an agency just sorting things out... It's just so exciting... And the people that are on their books, I look on this page and think, am I worthy enough to be on this page with these people who I grew up watching, it's a miracle.'

After scooping the six-figure sum, Syndie hopes she can book the same singing coach she had during her time on the ITV1 show, investing her money back into her craft.

'Absolutely, in two months she has made me a better singer than when I went to college for three years, she is amazing, and I just love her.'

She was continually modest during her time on the competition and even after winning, celebrated with a pint in the nearestWetherspoons.

Sydnie added: 'I love a Wetherspoons, who doesn't love a spoon?'
